Missouri Botanical Garden 2022 Annual Report
Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the nation’s oldest botanical garden in continuous operation. The Garden is a center for botanical research and science education, as well as an oasis in the heart of St. Louis, Missouri. The Garden’s mission is driven by the need to protect and conserve plants and their ecosystems.
The theme for this report is “Passion. Plants. People Planet.” Content is organized around this theme that describes the four key elements of the Garden’s mission. Individual articles home in on specific initiatives, as well as reporting on efforts and accomplishments not only at the Garden’s 79 acres, but also at 2,400-acre Shaw Nature Reserve and the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House.
